No Other Name

God is so good! He gave me more songs to share with you. This album is my favorite because there was such a freedom of worship that flowed from my heart as we worked on each song.

I included two of my favorite hymns — Holy, Holy, Holy and Amazing Grace — which I remember singing as a young girl in the Baptist church. I love their message: the holiness of our God and His beautiful grace. The Doxology is another old chorus from those days; I changed the melody up a bit and added two more verses and a chorus.

The other songs are new and original — written during a desert time in my life that sent me to my knees and clinging to the cross, and finding peace as I let go. I pray that as you listen, you are drawn into the presence of God and experience His unfailing love, His overwhelming peace, and His blessed hope.

Legacy

The songs on this album are inspired by my life experiences and the friends I've walked beside. Jesus Loves You came from the memory of rocking my sons to sleep; Together was a gift to my husband for our anniversary — he truly is my hero.

Legacy was written after my grandmother passed away. Sitting on the floor of her house surrounded by all her things, I asked my mom, “So is this what happens? You live your life, you collect stuff, and then someone decides what's worth keeping?” This song is the cry of my heart to live for more than that.

Waiting came out of the long hospital days when my dad's life was touch and go. The Pearls came from letting go of a ministry I'd poured twenty years into — one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, and one I've never regretted, because God wanted to do a new thing. I pray these songs encourage you. God is good!

Hope For Me & You

These songs are a glimpse into my heart as I walked through a few hardships and grew stronger in my relationship with the Lord — my struggles, my questions, my revelations, and His promises to me.

The title song was written in a season when I was discovering who I was, hurt and confused — but I knew that when it was all said and done, everything would be alright, because God was ordering my steps. Don't Turn Me Away rested on a clipboard for thirteen years before I found it stashed away with my music memorabilia and brought it to life — it's my husband's favorite.

Some of these songs came to me in the middle of the night; others were sparked by a sermon, a challenge from a friend, or our church's twentieth anniversary. Each one points to the same truth: Jesus is all I need — my anchor, my hope, my strength.
